Chair Collette’s Corner – Back in the Garden—Dirt, Sunshine & Good Vibes!

What’s better than a sunny day, a happy team, and a bit of good old-fashioned gardening? Absolutely nothing! That’s why our enthusiastic crew from the Shaw Centre was thrilled to be back at the Welcome Centre Garden, getting our hands (and probably our faces) covered in soil once again.

With trowels in hand, gloves on, and a lot of enthusiasm (even if our rows weren’t perfectly straight), we got right to work. We were also lucky to have Emma from Good Things Foundation join us!

🌱 Today’s Gardening Agenda:

  • Clear up the garden (a.k.a. wrestle with some stubborn weeds)
  • Plant bulbs for a future flower explosion 🌷🌼
  • Prep the greenhouse for tomatoes, peppers, and chillies—because let’s be honest, we love food
  • Take way too many photos of ourselves “hard at work” 📷

The best part? The laughter, the teamwork, and that unbeatable feeling of being outdoors, making something grow. The photos capture it better than words—smiles all around, muddy hands, and a greenhouse ready to be transformed into a veggie paradise. There’s something special about digging in the dirt, knowing that in a few months, we’ll be enjoying homegrown produce and a garden in full bloom.

A massive thank you to everyone who showed up and got stuck in. This is just the beginning of another fantastic growing season, and if today was anything to go by, it’s going to be an amazing one! Stay tuned—there’s plenty more gardening fun to come!
