Free Summer Courses at The Welcome Centre!
Summer is the perfect time to learn new skills, make new friends, and prepare for the future. The Welcome Centre in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, is offering a series of free summer courses designed to help you improve your English, gain valuable life skills, and have fun! Whether you’re looking to boost your career prospects, support your children’s education, or simply enjoy some creative activities, there’s something for everyone.
Family Learning Workshop
- Dates: Monday 5th August (10 AM – 12 PM & 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM), Tuesday 6th August (10 AM – 12 PM)
- Details: Improve your English over the summer to prepare for ESOL classes. Learn about A-Levels, college, apprenticeships, and university options for your children. Bring your kids for a chance to win a drone in a fun competition! We will have Zara a head chef at Wood with 10 years experience, she will share her journey and answer your questions

Health & Wellbeing
- Date: Wednesday 7th August (10 AM – 12 PM & 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM)
- Details: Join Jess for a yoga session and discussions on NHS services, mental health, and wellbeing.
Mock Interviews and CV Writing Workshop
- Dates: Monday 12th August (10 AM – 12 PM & 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM), Tuesday 13th August (10 AM – 12 PM)
- Details: Practice real interview scenarios, get support with your CV, and prepare for job, college, or university applications.
Financial Literacy Workshop
- Dates: Wednesday 14th August (10 AM – 12 PM), Wednesday 21st August (10 AM – 12 PM)
- Details: Learn about budgeting, improving your credit score, accessing benefits, and brainstorming ways to make extra money.
Transportation & Mobility Workshop
- Dates: Wednesday 14th August (12 PM – 2:30 PM), Monday 19th August (10 AM – 2:30 PM)
- Details: Gain confidence in travelling around Manchester and the UK using various transportation apps. Apply your knowledge with a practical outing on the 19th
Digital Crafting
- Dates: Thursday 8th August (10 AM – 12 PM), Thursday 15th August (10 AM – 12 PM)
- Details: Explore creativity with digital Cricut machines. Create designs for t-shirts, notebooks, and more. Learn how these skills can be used for a small business.

How to Register
To participate, you must be:
- 16 years or older
- A resident of the UK for at least 3 years
- A resident of Greater Manchester
Bring National Insurance Number, proof of ID, residency, and address on the first day of the course.
