Whether you need English for work, daily life, or making friends, or you want to feel confident using email, apps, and online services, these friendly, community-based courses are perfect for you.
Course Schedule – Learn English & Digital Skills
Tuesdays 10am – 12pm – Everyday English Classes
These ESOL lessons focus on practical English for everyday situations:
- All About Me & Family – Talk about yourself, family, and where you’re from
- My Wellbeing – Explore hobbies, mindfulness, and creativity
- My Local Area – Directions, places, and community services
- Life in the UK – Learn about laws, schools, elections, emergencies
- Writing Course – Practice forms, emails, and postcards
Wednesdays 10am -12pm – Practical English Topics
Build your English skills for work, health, and social life:
- Healthy Eating – Learn food vocabulary, shopping tips, and join a cooking session
- World of Work – CV tips, job interviews, and reading job ads
- My Health – Booking appointments, medicine safety, NHS services
- Reading Course – Improve reading with short stories and articles
- Festivals & Traditions – Share cultural celebrations
💻 Thursday 10am -12pm – Digital Skills Classes
Learn essential computer and mobile skills in a supportive group:
- Getting Started with Email (Weeks 1–4) – Set up Gmail, send/receive emails, stay safe online
- Using Apps (Weeks 5–8) – Download and use Maps, Translate, ChatGPT
- Social Media (Weeks 9–13) – Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram safety & privacy
- Online Shopping (Weeks 14–17) – Shop on Amazon, Tesco, compare prices safely
- Job Search & CV Writing (Weeks 18–21) – Find jobs, create a CV, apply online
Who Can Join?
These free courses are for adults who:
- Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
- Can show proof of ID and proof of address
- Did not attend English or Digital Skills courses last term
- National Insurance Number
How to Register
Drop by The Welcome Centre to register for classes, make sure you bring the required documents.
